About The Carriage House

Welcome to the Carriage House Bed and Breakfast, our Jefferson lodging. We are Tom and Stephanie Lester and we moved to Jefferson on August 10th 2009 from McKinney, Texas.  Although we enjoyed our lives in McKinney, we chose to make Jefferson our adopted hometown and we enjoy the many different opportunities that this beautiful little town has to offer. Jefferson is everything that makes a small town a wonderful place to live.

When we moved to Jefferson, we were both committed to becoming an active part of this vibrant community. This decision has given us the opportunity to get to know many different people and organizations in Jefferson and has made us realize and understand the importance of getting involved. Philosophically, we want to give as much to our hometown as we are given.

We are both members of the Riverport Ambassadors and have truly enjoyed meeting and interacting with the tourists visiting Jefferson while being in character clad in period dress. The Carriage House is located in the historic district in Jefferson and we both belong to the Historic Jefferson Foundation. Tom sits on the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Carnegie Library and Stephanie is an Associate Member of the Jessie Allen Wise Garden Club and sits on the Board of Directors for the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.

We always wanted to own a B&B and from a time before we were married, we talked about this dream. However, the conversation always went "When we retire,…" We finally realized that we did not want to wait until we retired and that we should take on this project while we had the energy to do it.

Running our Jefferson lodging has been a dream come true! We have had a wonderful time meeting all of the amazing people that come through our front door and list our favorite moments as those that we get to sit and visit with our guests.
