Historic Jefferson Hotel Photo Weekend

You are cordially invited to the 2011 Fall Photography Weekend in charming historic Jefferson . Come spend a glorious autumn weekend where the focus will be on photography, fun and fellowship.
Fall is a fantastic time to visit historic Jefferson and the Caddo Lake area. Jefferson is renowned for its beautiful antebellum architecture and its New Orleans Southern charm. This historic steamboat riverport town is known for its target rich environment and one of a kind "money shots" around every corner.
Caddo Lake is the most photographed lake in Texas. With its dripping spanish moss and swamp like environment, you will capture many unique and interesting images. Caddo Lake is a birders paradise and is home to alligators, turtles, beavers, nutria, and many other water loving critters.
Since a visit to a historic town is not complete without visiting their historic homes, all participants will have the opportunity to tour and photograph some of the most beautiful antebellum houses and gardens in Jefferson. In fact, several of the homeowners will be dressed in traditional Victorian period dress for us. How's that for a photo opp?
Information on the historic homes
The Seaborn Moseley Manor was built in 1851 by the eccentric Judge Seaborn Moseley. This traditional Greek Revival home is noted for its beautiful rose gardens featuring several unique varieties of Old Growth Roses.
The Grove, built in 1861, is the most famous of the homes that we will be able to tour and photograph due to its distinction as being the most haunted house in Jefferson and possibly the state of Texas.

November 12, 2011 – Saturday
6.30am to 8.30am - Sunrise Photo Walk
9.00am to 10am – Breakfast
10.00am to 11am – Lensbaby product demonstration by Arlington Camera
11am to 1pm – Lunch on your own
1pm to 3pm – Historic Home Photo Walk
3.30pm to 3.30pm – Drive to Caddo Lake
3.30pm to 5pm – Sunset photography boat tour on Caddo Lake
7.00pm to 8.30 pm – Group Dinner

9am to 10am – Breakfast
11am – Check out
The photo contest will begin Monday November 14th so begin work on your favorite photo.
All activities will go on as planned unless we experience extreme weather (snow, ice, tornado, etc.). Please bring rain gear and equipment covers.
Price for the Weekend
$99 per person
This price includes all planned tour costs, photography demonstrations, wine tasting and Hors D'oeuvres, group dinner, and photo contest. Gratuities are not included
